People aren't scary (really) – A guide to painting people by Marilyn Allis

Once you have begun putting figures into a painting, you won't be able to stop. Marilyn explains that figures are just blobs of light and dark and that with just a few simple brush strokes you can create a crowd of recognisable people.
The society for all artists
The companion volume to Marilyn Allis' Animals on the Loose shows how to include people in your artwork. Clear text illustrated throughout with full colour photographs, this is an excellent introduction to painting people in a loose, impressionist style.

The book is filled with vibrant step-by-step demonstrations for you to try in watercolour, but also using a number of other mediums including; pastel, gouache and acrylic inks.
